The Comtemporary Music Festival Encontres Internacional de Compositors invites submissions for its 2026 Composition Workshop, taking place in Mallorca. This opportunity is open to emerging composers—whether currently studying or at the beginning of their professional careers—of any age or nationality.

Overview
A workshop focused on contemporary instrumental music.
Selected composers will work with one of the following ensemble formats:
- Trio
- Duo
- Soloist
Available instrumentation:
- Piano, keyboard, or sampler
- Saxophone (soprano, alto, baritone)
- Percussion (vibraphone and additional materials to be determined)
The workshop emphasizes testing and discussing instrumental techniques in relation to musical narrative.
Note: Live electronics and amplification are not permitted.
Final concert: December 13, 2026, at Fundació ACA (Búger, Mallorca).
Professional recording included.
Target Participants
Composers in training or at the beginning of their professional careers, with no restrictions on age or nationality.

Session Schedule
August 2026 (online):
Online Welcome/Introductory seminar on the repertoire and workshop themes.
Start of online support with the workshop instructors.
September 25 (online):
Meeting with the ensemble: Rehearsal of a composition fragment (1-2 minutes) and feedback
from the faculty to the students.
December 12-13 (in-person):
Intensive work on the pieces with performers and composers. Recording, concert, and workshop
closing at the Aca Foundation (December 13)
Accommodation
Fundació ACA provides free accommodation during the in-person sessions for the first five selected participants.
Assistance will be offered to the remaining selected composers in organizing their accommodation.

Candidate Selection
Selection will be based on the curriculum and scores submitted.
Applicants will be informed of the outcome via email a few days after the application deadline.

Registration fee (selected composers): €380
The workshop will be held with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 9 participants.
