Carlota Cáceres/ Percussion

Carlota Cáceres is a versatile percussionist committed to the performance of contemporary music, both as a soloist and in chamber music. She has a broad background in various areas. She graduated with honors and received the end-of-course award in the Balearic Islands. Later, she furthered her education with two master's degrees in Basel: one in performance and another specialized in contemporary chamber music. She combines this work with her experience at UCSD (University of California), where she was invited by Steve Schick.
Carlota has obtained multiple study grants that consolidate her artistic development and have allowed her to train with the most prestigious percussionists in classical and contemporary fields. She won the first and second prizes of Kiefer Hablitzel Stiftung
Wettbeweb, as well as the Förderpreis der BOG für Junge Musikerinnen award.
She has participated in festivals such as Darmstadt Ferienkurse, Manifeste, OJAI, Davos Festival, Lucerne Festival, Ruhrtriennale, among others. Additionally, she has extensive orchestral experience, working with such notable conductors as Gustavo Dudamel, Jesús
López Cobos, or Sir Simon Rattle. All of this is balanced with her passion for contemporary music and her collaboration with ensembles such as Klangforum Wien.
Currently, Carlota is the percussion professor at the Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears and conducts masterclasses around the world, introducing new repertoire. This activity is complemented by her solo career as well as her involvement with ZAUM_percussion, an ensemble focused on the development of new concepts and new music. Her contribution to the contemporary music scene is a testimony to her dedication as a performer and educator.
